It’s been a month and a half since I’ve written a Simple Things blog post. When I originally decided to make these posts, I intended for them to be more of a weekly series where I would set aside time to reflect on the small, simple things which happened in that period of time which made me happy.
So rather than picking specific things, here are some things I’ve come to love over the past several weeks.
- Family time – my immediate family and I went to Northern Ontario to visit with my dad’s family. We also spent a weekend at my parents eating delicious food and bonding playing board games together.
- Scheduling – P and I have started scheduling our time off together so we can accomplish everything we need and want to get done
- Renovation projects with Paul – although this initiates some conflict, we are also finding out more and more about the other person. I’m also loving seeing our house slowly evolve into a home that’s perfectly ours.
- More intentional cooking – even with P’s strange work schedule I’ve managed to make grocery lists and (for the most part) stick to a meal plan each week. This means less eating out and healthier choices.
I didn’t intend for this post to be so wordy, but I guess that’s what happens when I don’t collect my thoughts for 7 weeks.
