04 Mar Word Art Wednesday #138: Logic vs. Imagination
When I was in high school, I liked both math and art classes. I still enjoy the logical quality of math — that there is one definite answer to each problem, and that one answer has only a few ways to solve it. Once I understood and memorized an equation, I could easily apply it to many different problems.
Art is very much the opposite of math —it is very subjective and there are several explanations for everything. When I found myself thousands of words deep into essays and with severe writing cramp for each exam, I missed the simplicity of the math questions I remembered from my high school classes. Although, I’m sure I would have been equally as frustrated to have been a math university student too for the opposite reason!
I love this quote from Albert Einstein: “Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you anywhere.” When I read it I knew it had to be the focus of one of my word art posts. I have a definite appreciation for both logic and imagination, and wouldn’t change the opportunities that imagination has granted me in the past few years. Enjoy!
Word Art Wednesday is a series on my blog providing weekly inspiration, happiness and encouragement. Most of the word art seen here is available as prints through my Etsy Shop. My work is also featured at lifestyle blog This Busy Life.
