20 Jun Simple Things
It’s been almost a year ago since Paul and I got engaged. I remember thinking the date we chose was so far away and the wedding would never arrive. Now, here we are with only seven days to go before we say “I do.”

With the last minute ‘to-do’s to cross off our list and final decisions to make, my world has very much felt like a chaotic mess at times. I’ve found peace in knowing that at the end of the day, if we are married, our wedding will have been a success. I’m so thankful for my incredible fiancé, parents, maid of honour, bridesmaids, family and friends who have helped and supported us through the past year. I’ve been treated to three uniquely beautiful and special bridal showers which I will never forget.
The past few weeks have been especially bittersweet because I will be moving out of my parents’ house and beginning a new life with Paul. As much as I am looking forward to the adventures that lie ahead of me, I am sad to leave. My family is very close-knit and my mom and I have a great relationship. We’ve been spending nearly every day together.
Paul and I have endured 5 of our dating years through long distance. I am very excited to close that chapter of our relationship. Earlier this week, we met up for a quick appointment and visit with each other. We said our very last ‘long distance goodbye,’ because the next time I see him will be just days before the wedding. Exciting.
